The Magic Medallion Scarf

“Necklace or scarf? Necklace or scarf... hmm, necklace or scarf?” How many time have we gone back and forth with an outfit trying to pick just one?  “This scarf looks cute, but I want something more blingy... I like this with a necklace but I wish I had something a little warmer (or more covering!).” Such a dilemma. We are very happy however to be able to run to you with a perfect solution... medallion scarves! They offer a little more bling than a plain scarf, but have a little more substance than a plain necklace. It’s the best of both worlds for your neck!

This pretty duo can add a big impact to any outfit, and is a great addition to your wardrobe. They have become very popular this year and this spring offers an unlimited variety of styles and colors! You can mix and match any combination we have in the store, just ask an associate for help. This way you can truly maximize your accessory and get the one (or many) that is perfect for you. They work for the office, school, work, church, weddings... anything you can think of! Dress up a t-shirt and jeans or add some pizazz to that old dress, whatever you do will be unique and completely you.

Think Spring

With all these snow flurries and chilly weather, it’s hard to believe that spring is right around the corner! Despite the groundhog’s predictions, winter seems to be going strong. Well, come by Amy’s Cottage for a change of pace. We have just received a HUGE shipment of spring clothes, and hurry before they’re gone!

This spring is all about bright pastels. Colors like muted purple, coral and teal are going to be very big this season and we have an awesome assortment. All of these colors can be worn interchangeably, even if they don’t totally seem to match; it’s all about adding the colors! Gold and silver jewelry thankfully match flawlessly with all of the spring colors, so be bold and bring them out.

The winter trend of big sweaters and leggings/skinny jeans has carried into the spring with flowy blouses and tunics paired adorably with colored skinny jeans of all styles! Jewelry for this season seems to have one theme in common; the more the merrier!  Stacks of bracelets (bangles especially, think Alex & Ani), long layered necklaces or big statement earrings all can do the trick, just remember to try only one per look please… two if you’re feeling super bohemian!

Make a Splash with New Vera Bradley!

With all this unpredictable weather, it’s nice to know one thing you can always count on... The latest and greatest at Amy’s Cottage! We are happy to have a fresh assortment of Summer 2013 Vera Bradley...! (Summer already?!.... we know) Debuting are four new patterns that are sure to shake away the frosty weather and add a little pop of sunshine!

The first new perfectly pastel paisley is confection-arily speaking, a delightful treat! Youthful and free-spirited, its soft washed hues of candy pink, mint green, butter yellow and vanilla white are accented with dark chocolate and a dash of citrus. The second is our new summer crush... Lilli Bell! Bellflowers in warm shades of orange and pink climb up a fresh green vine. Two colors that are always on trend for summer make this pattern a bright and cheerful accent to any wardrobe.

Dive into summer with the next pattern, Marina Paisley, a classic take on nautical. A seaport-inspired blend of deep maritime blues, bright crimson corals and freshwater turquoise is sure to make a splash this summer! Last but certainly not least is Sun Valley, where tribal tones and earthy influences band together. Indigo, poppy and a touch of citrine green dance rhythmically on a white background. Both primitive and modern, this design makes a unique fashion statement.

Come by and take a look! What’s your favorite?
